Celebrity Caddie Auction

One of the reasons the Nora Baldner Ladies Classic Golf Tournament is so successful is a unique event held the evening before the tournament. To date, more than one hundred gentlemen in both tournaments have graciously donated their time and talent to this tournament. Each celebrity caddie is asked to provide an incentive package to entice teams to bid for the privledge to win prizes and be accompanied by the caddie at the tournament.

CELEBRITY CADDIES 2010 SPRING CLASSIC

Golf Pro, Gary Sutton
Gary is a graduate of Northwestern University, which he attended on a Chick Evans Scholarship (full ride Caddie scholarship). He is a three year Honor Caddie with the Chicago District Golf Association. He is currently in his 30th year as Head Professional Macomb at Country Club, what better local knowledge! He is also a member of the Quarter Century Club of the PGA. For Each player: one free round of golf, with cart, and range balls prior to play, MCC members may use for guest. ($200 value), one day pass at the Macomb Country Club Pool for up to two people ($40 value normally only available to members), Macomb Country Club golf towel for each team member and two MCC license place holders for each participant. Gary’s team will also tee off second on hole #1.

Golf Pro, Mel Blasi
This caddie is sure to help you get lots of birdies! With over 20 years of watching women “swing” on the golf course, Mel can supply the tools to take you to the next level!  In addition to helping with the fundamentals, Mel will provide a round of golf with cart for your group at the beautiful Harry Mussatto Golf Course at Western Illinois University; a free pre-round lesson to help you take strokes off your game; and snazzy Western polo shirts to add to your golfing attire.  Mel says he has more coaching experience than all the other caddies here tonight combined., and he knows exactly what women want on the golf course: CHOCOLATE. Danny Torrance
Swing into golf Season with Danny as your Caddie! A PGA Pro since 1993, he will help your team line up the perfect shots. Danny is the proud Dad of two aspiring lady golfers, Allison and Laine. Bid on Danny for a golf package that includes a group lesson for the team, and an individual lesson for each player on the bidding team. Danny, owner of Gold Hills Golf Club, will also provide a free round of golf plus cart and range passes for each team member. Bid high for Danny for a super fun time and a great “Swing into Golf” package.

Rusty Melhouse
Rusty is set to take you out to the old ball game.  This sports buff’s package will include all the fixings for a good old fashion barbeque.  Coming around to the 3 tee box we will be enjoying hot off the grill hot dogs and brats along with your favorite seventh inning stretch refreshments.  Each of the team members will receive a sleeve of logo golf balls and towels with either the Cards or Cubs.  Along with that we will have new duffel bags for the event to carry home your prize winnings from the tournament.  What day at the park is complete without the proper headgear so we will be awarding team visors to the MVP, the most improved, best dressed, and “Miss Congeniality”. Lia Biehl- Lukkarinen
With many individual and team successes on her record, Lia is entering her 7th year as the WIU Women’s Golf Head Coach. In 2009-2010, the Fighting Leathernecks had two tournament wins and a 4th place finish at the Summit League Championship. From team captain at Illinois in her college days, to assistant coach for the Illini, to the Future’s Tour to the LPGA as an exempt player, Lia has seen it all. And in twelve years as a golf instructor, she’s seen your swing before too. Lia is a Class A PGA and LPGA member, is married to Mike and is mother to Connor and Kathryn. Each team member will receive a morning beverage of choice, a sleeve of logo golf balls (PRO V1), WIU ball marker and the team will receive a group lesson from Lia.

Kevin Johnson
Eye don’t think you’ll find a better caddie. Kevin has laser perfect vision and will be able to find your ball even if a squirrel hides it from you. He has Iron Man II depth perception and he’ll be able to calculate drive distance for you in the blink of an eye. Each player will receive a sleeve of golf balls, golf towel, practice balls, and a $25 gift certificate to Truffles by Becca for each team member. Kevin will also cook dinner for the team at his house, date and time to be determined by team. Drinks of the day of the event will be provided as well. Look no further for the perfect caddie!

We are not sure the teams he has caddied for have been the big winners of the tourney, but with Bob you are always a winner. He will make sure his ladies are well cared for, just like the Blessing mission to care for their patients. Again this year, Aramark will be providing a picnic for 20 to be used when your team determines. After all of that fine food, your team can get in shape with a free fitness consultation and a 6 month membership at the Blessing Fitness Center provided by Blessing Hospital. To top off this package, you will each receive a bag of Blessing logo items. You'll definitely feel "Blessed" with Bob!

Baseball, anyone? Or is it golf? Rob is back with his great package to remain the "Gem" of a caddie that he has been in the past few years. Not only will your team receive his finest caddy services, buy you and your friends will have great seats for a Quincy Gems game as you watch from the Party Deck. Sam and Tommy will provide your team with appropriate equipment as members of the Sheriff's team, and again may provide your team a beer or two on the course, since we all know you can't drink and drive. Or maybe your drive will be better if you drink! You will ride in the sheriff's "special golf cart", so you will surely not get lost. You will also get to go on the beat with a deputy to check out all of the action in Adams County. New to the package this year is a trip to Brown County also. You will enjoy a Sunday afternoon wine tasting at RidgeView Winery in Mt. Sterling. Overnight accommodations for 4 will be at Twin Hollows Lodge.
